This project was made as a collaboration with my Grandad, Peter McLoughlin, who has always had an interest in trainspotting. He began his hobby as a child, his main interest in steam locomotives. When I was growing up he would take me and my sister on train rides which made my curiosty and interest for them grow. This project was a chance for us to spend some time togther and bond.
For this project we decided to take a look at the old Bath and Bristol railway line which is now formally known as the cycle newtwork. We went on bike rides to the diferent stations along the way, pointing out different types of trains as well as architecture. I have taken an interest in the old architecture of the stations and viaducts that are scattered throughout the countryside.
Paired along with the images of various trains and structures are a set of portraits I made of my Grandad over the course of the 6 weeks we spent making this project.
